My name, Kaer, came to me while reading about Celtic and Gaelic traditions,  where it appears as “Caer” (there is no “K” in those original alphabets and the “C” has a hard sound rather than a soft one).  In Welsh, Caer means castle or place holder and, in a favorite Gaelic tale, Caer is the name of the swan-maiden that Angus falls in love with. When he learns she must turn into her swan form and go with the flock for six months each year, he declares his love and manages to shift-shape to do so as well. It is said Caer is the goddess of dreams and Angus the god of love. Since my original name is Karen, and I was often called Kare, a little scribbling, some auto-writing and a sprinkling of playful numerology and, voila, I’m Kaer!

My intention for this blog is to cause a breakthrough for myself and others –from imagination to action –by creating and launching my dream of an online community (portal?) of kindred souls and a weekly e-magazine and/or Internet radio interview show, promoting, celebrating and valuing (spotlight) our humanity, the gift of imagination,  and our many talents that get things done!  I call it Sage and Sane…. Join me!
